Essendo un 1966, questa MGB Roadster è interessante – ovvero non si tratta di una MGB Roadster degli anni ’70 o ’80. È interessante anche il suo grado di preservazione generale. Inoltre, l’abbinamento interno/carrozzeria non è comune e si abbina perfettamente alle cromature che tendono a risaltare di più su tonalità più scure.

La produzione dell’MGA vide il suo tramonto definitivo nel 1962. Presentata nel settembre 1962, la MG MGB 1800 (abbreviata in MGB) fece subito scalpore. Dati i numeri (più di 500.000 unità costruite) la MGB è veramente una delle vetture sportive più vendute e di successo di tutti i tempi. A differenza della MGA, la scocca è unica con linee più dritte e di design più italianeggiante (e moderno per quei tempi in cui l’Italia era un punto di riferimento di stile a cui aspirare). L’MGB è sicuramente più spaziosa e confortevole rispetto alla MGA e ha motore di cilindrata superiore, ovvero 1800. La manutenzione è relativamente molto facile grazie alla presenza di innumerevoli cataloghi di pezzi ricambio per MGB in formato cartaceo e digitale e rivenditori specializzati nel modello. Inoltre, la rete di appassionati di MGB e MGB GT è molto estesa e radicata a livello globale.

We have the opportunity to offer for sale this lovely 1966 MGB Roadster finished in blue color matching with blue seats with light blue piping, powered by a 1.8-litre engine, originally right hand drive.

The most interesting characteristic of this MGB Roadster is its level of general preservation and originality. This is not an over-restored exemplar, it is unmolested and well kept over the time. This is important: it suggests that the general maintenance has been carried out regularly to keep the car roadworthy. Furthermore, the fact that this MGB is one of the earliest models – namely of the 1960s and not of the 1970s – makes this car particularly appealing. Last but not the least, we love this color combination: indeed, the blue of the bodywork beautifully contrasts with the shiny chrome-work. However, the charm does not end once you open the door: the tidy blue seats and door panels perfectly match the bodywork. The combination bodywork/interior makes this exemplar unusual but extremely beguiling.
